Giovanni Gaines-Little also was charged Monday, Jan. 29, with obstruction, hindering, witness tampering and driving without a license, among other charges, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Raymond Hayducka of the South Brunswick Police Department

On Feb. 25, 2023, at approximately 10 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Route 130 and Route 32 following the report of a crash. Police found Kerri Lynn Shea, 43, of East Windsor, who died as a result of the crash, they said. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene on foot, they said.

The investigation led by Officer Bryan Sites of the South Brunswick Police Department and Detective Matthew Colonna of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that Gaines-Little was the driver of the other vehicle and fled the scene.

Gaines-Little was being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending the results of a pretrial detention hearing scheduled for Friday, Feb. 2.
